About Us MEET GREGORY R. SONN D.O. Dr. Sonn is a native Floridian who grew up in Fort Myers. He is dual boarded in Family Practice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Sonn received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Florida Atlantic University and his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio-Sciences (KCU). After completing his residency in Family Practice, Dr. Sonn worked with a well-established primary care provider in Fort Lauderdale. His patient base extended throughout Monroe County, Homestead, Islamorada and Key West. Dr Sonn’s experiences caring for geriatric patients paved the way for his secondary certification in Palliative and Hospice Medicine. After his board certification in Palliative Medicine, Dr. Sonn began working with Hope Healthcare Services in 2008, and served as Chief Medical Officer during his tenure. Looking for a change Dr. Sonn accepted an offer from Vitas Innovative Health Care to spearhead a project to expand hospice services to the beautiful FL Keys. Many life long relationships were forged both in Islamorada and KW while he his wife Alisa and their daughter Sara lived on their Hatteras named: “Rockin’ The Doc”. While living in Key West Dr. Sonn worked with Visiting Nursing Association of the FL Keys to increase hospice utilization. In conjunction with: VNA, Lower Keys Medical Center and 21st Century Oncology, Dr. Sonn began the first dedicated “Palliative Care” service in Key West. In 2015 Dr. Sonn broke away from western medicine and began an integrative medical practice where the goal is true primary prevention, treating and educating patients on how to become healthy using natural products in place of chemical intervention. Couple this with nearly two decades of palliative care, and he is the ideal physician to recommend complimentary medicines. Dr Sonn is a proponent of medical marijuana and is certified to legally “recommend” cannabis as medicine. He hopes law makers of Florida further support patient rights and allow further deregulation. In addition to his interest in clinical service, Dr Sonn, and his family enjoy, boating, diving and golfing. Dr Sonn is excited to bring alternative medicine and education to the Florida Keys.
